    This moment was really important to me in Into the Spider-Verse. This happens when Miles Morales really becomes Spider-Man, and it really gets at one of the things I love about superhero stories that you don’t really see much anywhere else. What’s actually happening here is that Miles just jumped off the side of a skyscraper and gravity’s pulling him to the ground. But by having the camera be upside down to show Miles like this, they created an image that makes it look like Miles is flying. He’s ascending, becoming someone more than who he used to be, while descending. This was a moment that said, Miles isn’t just someone with superpowers, he’s a superhero

    forget the animation, this movie was just beyond with the symbolism
